High School Courses
Tests
Suggested grading for tests, offered as a tool for parents, is provided at the beginning of the "Online Class Session"
after the student has taken the test. (We suggest parents watch this portion to help grade the test)
Labs
Labs are included in the "Online Class Sessions". This course fulfills the requirements for a High School Science with Lab credit
if students watch the labs and complete the lab write ups as specified on the syllabus. Instructions, examples, and suggested
grading of the lab write ups are included on the syllabus.
Final Grades & Credits
Final grades are at the discretion of the parents.
We recommend that students complete and save all assigned work in a portfolio or notebook as evidence of course completion and credit. Mrs. Frates suggests if students don't receive at least a 'B' average (80-89%), they should feel free to do the module, classes, and test again until they have a better understanding of the material.
After completing Catie’s science courses, if students are comfortable with the subject material, we recommend students look into taking CLEP and SAT II subject tests for college admissions.

Middle School Courses
Tests
We do not offer tests in the middle school science courses because Catie firmly believes science should be fun for as long
as possible. Therefore, tests for middle school classes would be strictly at the parent's design and discretion.
Review questions are provided. Catie suggests discussing what your student learned at the dinner table, which can be a
very effective means of "testing" their understanding and it can be a lot of fun!
